Pineapples are one of nature’s sweetest foods, filled with naturally occurring sugar, vitamins, minerals, and digestive enzymes. But there’s a way to make pineapple even sweeter, if you can believe it!
Turn it upside down!
Unlike other fruits which are smaller and more evenly shaped (think grapes, berries, apples), pineapples are large and oval-shaped, causing the sugar in the pineapple to sink to the bottom.
Before cutting your pineapple, turn it upside down and let it sit on its head (or stem) for 30 minutes. This allows the sugar to redistribute evenly throughout the fruit, making for a sweeter outcome.
